What is the default login for my modem or router?

After a factory reset, your modem or router goes back to its factory defaults: the WiFi name and password revert to what's printed on the sticker on the device, and the settings page goes back to its default admin username and password. Most Eyesurf modems have a settings page at 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 — the table below lists the default login for each model we supply. If you rent your equipment from us and can't get in, just call support: for many models we can view or push settings remotely.

Default logins by model

Open a browser on a connected device (Ethernet works even if WiFi is down) and go to the address for your model:

WiFi password on the device sticker

Don't see your model (for example a CBN/Compal unit)? Call or chat with us — we'll look up the defaults for your exact unit, and for many rented modems we can view or push settings remotely.

After a factory reset

  • Your WiFi name and password revert to the sticker defaults. Look on the back or bottom of the modem for the network name (SSID) and WiFi key, and reconnect every device using those.
  • The WiFi password is often the serial number and usually needs to be typed in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, exactly as printed.
  • SmartRG gotcha: after a reset, the network can show up as "SmartRG…" and the sticker password sometimes doesn't work, because the modem was originally provisioned with Eyesurf settings remotely. If the sticker password fails twice, don't keep resetting — call us and we'll push your WiFi settings remotely; it takes a few minutes.
  • All custom settings (network name, password, port forwarding, etc.) are erased by a reset.

Before you factory reset

A reset is a last resort — try a normal reboot first (unplug power, wait 30 seconds, plug back in, wait 3–5 minutes). And one hard warning: never factory reset a Thomson TG784 — it wipes settings that can't be restored automatically. If you have one and it's misbehaving, contact support instead.
