What is BeaverTV and what do I need to use it?
BeaverTV is Eyesurf's television service. Instead of a cable box, it's a streaming app that runs over your Eyesurf internet connection — you download the BeaverTV app on a Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Firestick, or an Android or iOS phone or tablet, sign in with the login we email you, and watch. Every subscription includes a PVR with 50 hours of recording, the ability to watch shows from previous days, pause-and-rewind for live TV, and streaming on up to 4 devices at once in HD. You need Eyesurf internet to use it, and a streaming device is not included.
What you need
- An Eyesurf internet plan. BeaverTV is delivered through your internet connection, so it's only available with Eyesurf internet — it can't be purchased on its own. As a rule of thumb, a 30 Mbps plan comfortably runs about three HD TVs at once — budget roughly 5–10 Mbps per HD stream, or 15–25 Mbps per 4K stream, for each TV playing at the same time.
- A compatible streaming device: Roku, Apple TV (4th generation or newer), Amazon Firestick, or an Android/iOS phone or tablet. A streaming device is not included with the service — most customers already have one, and inexpensive options are widely available. See What devices can I download the TV app on?
What's included
Every BeaverTV subscription starts with the TV Basics package — local TV, news, and entertainment channels.
All plans include:
- PVR recording — 50 hours (3,000 minutes) of storage, with series recording. Details: Does your TV service come with a PVR?
- Go-Back — watch shows from previous days
- Timeshift — pause, rewind, and fast-forward live TV
- Up to 4 devices streaming at once, all on the same login, at no extra charge
- HD picture quality
- Self-serve channel management — add or remove channels yourself, with changes applied in real time: How do I add/remove channels to my TV subscription?
Want more channels?
On top of TV Basics you can add the Sports Pack (includes both Sportsnet and TSN), Crave & HBO, or Pick My Own bundles where you choose your own channels in 5, 10, or 15-channel tiers. See What channels does BeaverTV have? Packages and add-ons for the full picture, and https://beavertv.ca for the current lineup.
How do I sign up?
See How do I get BeaverTV? — in short: you need Eyesurf internet at your address, then add the TV Basics package by phone or chat. Your login arrives by email, and setup guides for Roku and Firestick walk you through the rest.
